|Josette Jorge, Toronto, ON (Junior Speech Arts)
Josette Jorge is a co-founder and instructor at Ivy Speech Arts Academy in Toronto, Ontario. With over 15 years of teaching under her belt, her goal has always been to help youth discover their voices and leadership skills through speech arts and drama. Many of her students have gone on to win gold medals for the RCM examinations every year and have perused acting professionally in TV and Film.
Josette herself also works an actor in film, theatre, and voiceover. Her TV appearances include The Stanley Dynamic, Salvation, Schitt’s Creek, The Beaverton, and CBC’s According to Kids to name a few. Kids may also recognize her voice in the cartoons Abby Hatcher, Bakugan, Ollie The Boy Who Became What He Ate, and Kingdom Force.
Josette has a bachelor's degree in Theatre Performance at Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts. She also holds a Performer's Associate Certificate for Speech and Drama from Trinity College London, United Kingdom.
|Scott Swan, Vancouver, BC (Intermediate & Senior Speech Arts)
Director, Scott Swan has been a theatre director and teacher for over thirty years, winning numerous awards for his work. He was the Founding Artistic Director of Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton and the Artistic Director of Festival Lennoxville in Quebec. Select directing engagements include: The National Arts Centre, the Shaw Festival, the Vancouver Playhouse, and Bard on the Beach. Scott has had two shows optioned for Broadway, served as a National Radio Drama Producer for CBC, and has numerous stage and television credits. For the past seventeen years he has been the Head Teacher of his own acting studio, Seacoast Studios. Scott’s former students work professionally in both Canada and the U.S. and have been accepted to highly acclaimed theatre programs world-wide.
